HOW DO I USE SKINNY ROUX?
Use it however you would a traditional roux! We usually use 1 jar (the WHOLE jar, including the oil that rises to the top) for every 4-5 quarts of broth/water in whatever we’re making. We shake ours up really well before pouring it into whatever we’re cooking. Be sure to refrigerate it after opening. We always tell customers to “TRUST THE PROCESS”! When you first pour it in, it might look a little weird. Just let it cook (i.e. slow boil, simmer) for a while (usually 1-2 hours depending on what we’re cooking), and everything will come together perfectly!
WHERE CAN I SEE THE NUTRITIONAL INFORMATION?
Below is our current nutrition panel (as approved by the Louisiana Department of Health).
We advertise that a whole jar of Skinny Roux only has 11 grams of net carbs, which is accurate, we promise! When we create the nutrition panel based on 1 oz servings, it “rounds up” on several of the values. The whole jar actually has 28 grams of “Total Carbs”, and 17 grams of “Dietary Fiber”. So, when you subtract the Dietary Fiber from the Total Carbs, you’re left with 11 grams of net carbs.
